The lead actor of Mannat – Har Khushi Paane Ki, Adnan Khan, has addressed the recent dip in the show’s Television Rating Points (TRPs), attributing it to the overpowering dominance of IPL and cricket star Virat Kohli on television, rather than any shortcomings in the show itself.
Adnan Khan: “No One Can Compete with Him”
In a candid conversation, Adnan emphasized that when Virat Kohli’s matches are broadcast, they overshadow nearly everything else on TV. He remarked, “No one can compete with him,” explaining that the IPL’s popularity creates an unavoidable lull in viewership for daily soaps like Mannat. He stressed that the show is not under any official scrutiny or risk of being taken off-air, dismissing rumors about negative channel feedback as “recurring news” that crop up during any dip in ratings
TRP Drop Part of a Broader Trend
Industry sources corroborate Adnan’s perspective. Both Mannat and Ram Bhavan recently experienced a steady decline in ratings, not due to content quality, but because of the IPL viewership surge. The ratings drop isn’t unique to Mannat—scripted shows across channels are seeing similar trends during the tournament period.
Strengthening Lead On-Screen Chemistry
Adnan also credited the positive feedback for the show’s leads—himself and Ayesha Singh—as a reflection of the show’s core strengths. Unlike the unpredictable nature of sports ratings, Mannat’s on-screen chemistry and emotional storytelling continue to engage its digital audience. Despite the lull in broadcast viewership, the core narrative remains intact, and viewer loyalty is still strong.
No Official Notices or Pressure
Contrary to media speculation, Adnan confirmed that neither he nor the production team has received any formal notice from Colors TV. The so-called ‘scanner’ rumors tend to arise whenever TRPs dip. However, as he said, “we haven’t been told anything,” reaffirming that the show is not in jeopardy.
IPL Winds Down, Ratings Expected to Rebound
With the IPL season nearing its conclusion, Adnan and the Mannat team expect a natural return of regular viewership. They are optimistic that as cricket fever subsides. The show is also consistent storytelling and strong lead duo will regain traction on TV.
