Harshvardhan Rane reveals industry doubt ahead of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat

Harshvardhan Rane Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat

Actor Harshvardhan Rane has opened up about the uphill battle behind his latest release, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, directed by Milap Zaveri. He revealed that nearly all industry insiders — “99 per cent of the industry,” in his words — were dismissive of the film, telling him it was a “fluke” waiting to happen.

Facing the industry’s scepticism

In a candid interview, Rane said the tone from producers and peers before release was less than encouraging. He was told that the film wouldn’t connect, and that strong romance-drama films were passé. Despite this, he chose to trust his instincts and commit fully to the project.

Strong box-office start and celebration

Contrary to warnings, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat kicked off with encouraging numbers. The film, which reportedly had a budget of around ₹ 25 crore, has grossed ₹ 22.75 crore in its first three days — indicating it might break industry expectations. A Mumbai party organised by the star and co-lead Sonam Bajwa marked the success celebration.

Rane’s mindset moving forward

Despite the praise for the film’s commercial potential, Rane remains grounded. He previously commented that “if a film isn’t great, even a U/A certificate can’t save it.” His mindset reflects an actor who is aware of both the grind and the gamble of mainstream cinema.

What this means for the actor

For Harshvardhan Rane, the combination of industry doubt and early box-office strength sets a compelling narrative. He’s positioning himself as the underdog who trusted his gut — an image that many audiences find relatable. As the film continues its run, his performance and the film’s success will be closely watched for how they shape his next chapter.
