Addressing rumours during The Male Feminist podcast, Mahhi Vij questioned why she owes anyone an explanation:
“Even if separation is a possibility, why should I tell you? Are you my uncle? Will you pay my lawyer’s fee?”
She expressed irritation at unsolicited opinions in her comments section, where fans pit her and Jay against each other—one side praising her, the other criticizing. “Do you even know the truth?” she challenged.

Mahhi Vij highlighted societal biases around single mothers and divorce, pointing out that separation is often sensationalized. She called out societal pressure:
“People assume there will be drama…they think we’ll start throwing mud at each other. I feel there is a lot of pressure from society. Just live and let live.”

Married since 2011, Mahhi and Jay are parents to three children: adopted duo Khushi and Rajveer (2017) and biological daughter Tara (2019). She emphasized their efforts to protect family unity despite rumours, stating they continue working through any issues together in private.
